Tara Matheny began her banking career in 1999 & joined our FirstCNB team in 2003 as a traveling teller. Through hard work & determination, Tara advanced to Assistant VP and Mortgage Loan Originator! She handles mortgage origination on the Secondary Market and In-House Portfolio Financing. Tara has 10+ years’ experience working in real estate lending!

Tara loves helping her customers navigate their way through the - sometimes challenging - mortgage process. She says it brings a smile to her face to sit at the closing table with her customers as they purchase or refinance their home. However, she feels most fulfilled when she’s spent time with a customer that isn’t quite ready yet, showing them what they need to do to get there. The day they come back and qualify is the day she feels she’s done her job!

Tara also serves on the Board for the Dyer County Community Cancer Fund & is a Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce Diplomat. She is deeply committed to the betterment of her community. Tara is also dedicated to giving Platelet donations every two weeks at Lifeline Blood Services located in Dyersburg, TN. She urges people to give whenever they can!

Tara and her husband, Josh, have been marred since 2001. Together they have two sons, Chandler & Colton. Originally from Obion County, Dyer County became home to the Mathenys in 2003. They are very proud of their sons! Chandler is a Senior in college at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Colton is a Sophomore at Dyer County High School. When Tara and Josh aren’t traveling, they spend their weekends watching Colton play baseball, swimming in their pool and hanging out with family and friends. Besides work and family, Tara's love is basketball. She has had the opportunity to coach both her boys, but enjoys playing more than coaching!
